3 in Nyagaka murder probe arrested as gun, ammunition recovered

Three suspects linked to the murder of Kuria West Director of Education Robert Nyagaka have been arrested.

According to the the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI); Robert Masiaga, Tabitha Boke and Joseph Gati were arrested on Friday following an early morning raid at Maeta Village in Kuria East.

“The following items were recovered…a loaded AK47 rifle, over 200 assorted ammunitions, Czeska magazine, handcuffs and jungle uniforms..some of the items were found wrapped in a polythene paper and hidden in a composite pit, the DCI said.

Nyagaka was shot dead by unknown assailants on April 2, 2019 in Kehancha town, Migori County.

“The suspects who are currently in lawful custody will be arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged appropriately,” the DCI added.
