4 suspects in former MP Muchai murder put on their defense

The court ruled that the prosecution had established a case against them. However, three other accused persons were acquitted after the court found that the prosecution had failed to prove its case against them.

Those acquitted are Jane Wanjiru alias Shito, Margaret Njeri Wachiuri, and Simon Wambugu Gichaba.

“I enter a finding of not guilty against the 5th, 6th, and 7th accused persons, and they are hereby acquitted,” the court ruled.

The court further noted that there was no reliable evidence linking the three to the killing of Muchai and three others.
