4-year-old with kidney failure detained in hospital over Ksh.124,000 medical bill

Marren Anyago, who has been nursing her daughter, who has been suffering from kidney failure at the facility since March 8, 2025, was discharged last week after the daughter recovered, but they are not able to leave the facility because of the unpaid hospital bill.

Anyango, who hails from Uriri sub-county, said the bill has accumulated to Ksh.124,000 and it continues to increase while she is still in the hospital.

Back home, Anyango says her six children have been locked out of a rental house over unpaid rent.
