5 year old in unusual court session after entire class attends adoption hearing

It was an unusual sitting at a court in Michigan after a 5 year old boy appeared for his adoption hearing accompanied by his entire class at school.

The presiding judge admitted that he had never hosted the kind of audience that was seated at the spectator’s section of the courtroom on the hearing held on Thursday.

”Five-year-old Michael’s entire kindergarten class sat in the audience behind him waving big red hearts mounted on wooden sticks to show their support,” CNN reported.

Micheal’s adoptive father says that it is a teacher at his school Mrs. Mckee who first suggested that his classmates attend the court proceedings.

Mckee who knew that the adoption would be finalized soon wanted to make the day special for the five year old boy.

The adoptive father says he was most touched by the events of that day and particularly when the judge asked those in the courtroom to say what Micheal meant to them.

”The kindergartners offered the most touching answers, standing up and telling the court, “I love Michael” or “Michael’s my best friend,” Micheal’s new father said.

His foster parents, though married for ten years never had children and had stayed with Micheal for slightly over one year.

They speak of Micheal with pride saying that they have been amazed by the many friends that Micheal has made who have on many occasions invited him to their homes on play dates.
