Fifty-five boys from Kaarani Mixed Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi County stormed out of school on Saturday in protest of the strict regulations set by their new principal.

According to a police report, the boys passed through a barbed wire fence and are yet to report back to the said school.

The new principal is said to have joined the institution in October 2023.

"The officers managed the situation. No property destroyed nor injury reported reported so far," read part of the report.

The police assured that the remaining 75 girls and 12 boys who remained in school have resumed normal learning schedules.
