8 dead after matatu rams into lorry on Webuye-Eldoret highway
Eight people have been confirmed dead and several others seriously injured after a matatu they were travelling in rammed into a truck parked on the roadside at Musembe, Kakamega.
Kakamega County Police Commander Hassan Barua confirmed the Sunday 5 a.m. incident, saying the 2NK shuttle matatu was travelling from Bungoma to Nairobi on the Webuye-Eldoret highway when the accident happened.
The bodies of the victims have been taken to the Webuye Hospital mortuary in Bungoma.
