9 Kenyans nominated for Forty Under 40 Africa awards in Ghana

Nine Kenyans have been nominated for this year's Forty Under 40 Africa Awards, which seek to recognize the ​​most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of forty across the continent.

Ruth Mueni, Rose Ronoh, Robert Belle, Christine Ogola, Joan Musumba, Toseef Din, Sosthen Eugine, Anthony Gacheru, and Mayben Omollo, were submitted alongside 63 other Africans for the awards.

Mueni is up for the Communications and Advertising award while Eugine is nominated in the Governance and Government Agencies category alongside Uganda’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

Omollo has been recognized in the Hospitality category, while Ronoh is nominated for the Consultancy award. Belle is in the Professional Services category while Ogola is up for the Community Development award.

Musumba, on the other hand, will be seeking the Theater and Arts award as Din competes in the Health and Wellness category, and Gacheru in Printing and Publishing award.

Our Jury is seeking outstanding entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals in the public and private and non-profit sectors,"  the award  director Richard Abbey Jr said.

"We will recognise attributes such as achievements in business, experience and innovation, vision, leadership and community involvement.” 

To be eligible for the awards, one must be an entrepreneur, shareholder, founder, or co-founder of a company, aged 40 or below, and be a citizen of any of the 55 African nations, living on the continent or in the Diaspora.

The award ceremony is slated for March 26 in Accra, Ghana.
