'A fraud upon Kenyans' Martha Karua trashes Kenya Kwanza-Azimio dialogue committee report

NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua has called on Kenyans to reject the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, stating that the report has not addressed key issues that forced Kenyans to take to the streets after the elections.

According to Karua, the report failed to address three issues pertinent to the Azimio coalition among them the cost of living, audit of the 2022 General Election, and respect for political parties and multiparty democracy.

“While concluding in the NADCO Report, we have to say, it has nothing to alleviate the suffering of citizens but it offers goodies to the leadership. This is totally unacceptable. It is a fraud upon Kenyans. It should be frowned upon and rejected. It is a distracting national smokescreen,” Karua said.

Karua added that the Finance Act 2023 that was enacted after public participation indicated that an overwhelming majority of Kenyans were opposed to it, and cited it to be the major reason behind the high cost of living being witnessed in the country.

“In any talks, the part that makes the talks succeed is the party in power. These talks have failed because the Kenya Kwanza regime and Ruto himself have nothing but contempt for Kenyans. You fool around for 8 months and you come with 0 results,” she stated.

"This is horrendous, especially considering the unprecedented high levels of unemployment in the country.  Instead of ensuring an enabling environment for businesses to facilitate the creation of jobs, Mr Ruto keeps promising Kenyans jobs in other jurisdictions. In an attempt to justify his insatiable appetite for travel in an economy that is on the precipe of collapse."

Karua also demands that the IEBC reconstitution process be halted by up to 60 days, allowing both coalitions to reach a consensus on the same without the involvement of parliament.
