African PR professionals elected to Global Alliance board

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (GA)
has announced new members who are set to steer the organization's direction
over the next two years.
The organization’s 21st Annual General Meeting, which took
place during the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) annual conference
in Lusaka, Zambia on May 15, witnessed the ascension of four esteemed PR
professionals from Africa to the prestigious global board.
Leading the group of newly elected board members is Irene Lungu Chipili,
hailing from Zambia, who made history as the first woman and PR professional
from her country to join the global board of GA. As the President of the Zambia
Institute of Public Relations and Communication, Chipili brings a wealth of
experience and a fresh perspective to the board.
Also joining the board is Peter Mutie, an accomplished communication
specialist and CEO of Peterson Integrated Communication from Kenya.
Mutie, a seasoned communication specialist, brings a wealth
of experience to the board, having previously served a term on the GA board
since his election in 2020.
Additionally, Mutie holds key leadership positions,
including Chairperson of the Africa Regional Council of the Global Alliance and
Chairman of the College of Fellows in Kenya.
The other two include; Wole Ademolukun from Nigeria, and Rene Dailen Benecke representing South Africa.
According to the Global Alliance, these individuals have
demonstrated exceptional expertise and leadership within the PR industry,
making them invaluable additions to the GA board.
Mr. Justin Green from Ireland was re-elected as the President for a third
two-year term.
During the opening session of the APRA conference, Mr. Justin Green congratulated the newly elected board members, highlighting Africa's pivotal role in advancing the PR profession globally.
