Bongo star Ali Kiba has followed in the footsteps of his nemesis Diamond Platnumz to launch his own media house.

The move is to celebrate Kiba's 20 years in music, where he has made a huge name for himself and indeed propelled Tanzanian music to the world.

In a star-studded ceremony on Saturday evening, Kiba said he aims to reach as many people as possible through his new entity, Crowns Media, which will include a TV station, radio station, digital media and events.

There will be Crown FM, Crown TV and Crown Digital.

Present during the launch were, among others, former Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete and fellow singer Ommy Dimpoz.

Ali Kiba now joins another Tanzanian singer Diamond, who owns a fully fledged media house in Wasafi Media.

Diamond is one of the most decorated singers in Tanzania and indeed East Africa, but indeed his rivalry with Ali Kiba has seen them grow even more apart.

Regardless, they both enjoy immense success on and off music.
