American woman arrested for living with dead mother for 3 years

An American woman living in Texas was on Friday arrested after the remains of her dead mother were found in their house.

According to a report from BBC, the skeletal remains were found on the bedroom floor.

Police suspect that the woman was 71 years when she fell to her death in 2016.

They also believe that the suspect, who is 47- years-old, failed to provide care for her mother after she fell which later to her death a few days later.

It is reported that at the time of the incident, the suspect’s child was under the age of 15 and was deliberately forced to live with her grandmother’s corpse.

Consequently, her mother has been charged with “injury to a child” under the age of 15.

The daughter has since been placed in the care of relatives and is receiving assistance from child protection services.

Her mother is facing up to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to Ksh. 1million if found guilty.

Police reports further indicate that the deceased worked as a secretary and teaching assistant at a local school for 35 years.
