ANC, Ford Kenya, Wiper MPs dare ODM to leave NASA

A section of Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya MPs have dared the Raila Odinga-led ODM party to leave NASA if they are not ready to include the rest of the parties in the talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking after a joint meeting at Panafric hotel in Nairobi, the legislators, led by Lugari MP Ayub Savula demanded NASA leadership convene an urgent parliamentary group meeting to explain the nature of the talks held between Mr. Odinga and the president last week at Harambee House.

The legislators from NASA affiliate parties further warned that they are ready to serve as the opposition if ODM merges with Jubilee.

“In case ODM engages Jubilee in a partnership that is between ODM and Jubilee and in case ODM is swallowed in this arrangement, we are ready to take over the leadership of the opposition in the country,” threatened the leaders.

The leaders insist that it is paramount for NASA to hold structured engagement before engaging the Jubilee side.

“In case ODM gets married to Jubilee, we will divorce them and remain in NASA,” said Mr. Savula.

“We are ready to take up the role as the official opposition in this country, and this is will be the last resort, we have talked and agreed.”

According to the legislators, Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya are firmly in NASA even as concerns arise over ODM belittling other parties in the coalition.

“We are not walking out of NASA, we are the owners of NASA. We are against ODM belittling other partner parties in NASA,” noted Savula.

“ODM can walk away if they want to walk away. We will remain with NASA and build NASA to take over the presidency in 2022.”

This come a day after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said together with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, they will seek an appointment with Mr. Kenyatta who is away in Cuba.
