At least 6 people injured in stampede at venue of Mashujaa Day Celebrations

Approximately six people, including a minor, have been hospitalised following a stampede at Gate C of the Kericho Green Stadium, the venue of this year's Mashujaa Day Celebrations.

Local media reports indicate that all the injured persons were rushed to Kericho County Referral Hospital for treatment.

Despite the incident, police were able to take charge of the situation.

President William Ruto has since arrived at the stadium, which has a sitting capacity of 10,000 people, to lead the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
