Auditor General’s Report Exposes More Misuse of County Funds
The auditor general's report continues to reveal gross misuse of devolved funds, with strong indications that millions of shillings could have ended in the pockets of individual officers in several county governments. The report points to rampant irregular procurement of goods and services, questionable issuance of imprests and payment of allowances that were not supported by relevant documentation and failure to account for assets such as land and vehicles. Francis Gachuri looks at the auditor general's reports on Makueni, Isiolo and Wajir counties where millions of shillings could not be accounted for.
