The family of 7-year-old Tamara Blessing Kabura, who was found murdered
in Nyeri, is now calling for justice as investigations continue.
A postmortem was conducted on Friday and a memorial service
held in her honor, but the cause of death remains undisclosed as detectives
carry out further tests.
Family spokesperson Jackline Ruguru said the autopsy took
hours and was thorough. While the pathologist did not issue a public briefing,
the family was informed of the findings privately.
The family spokesperson added that early indications support
suspicious of what the young girl may have gone through.
"Today, is the day we were doing the postmortem, and it
was long hours of a postmortem that was thoroughly done and the findings have
come out and we have left the police to do what is required to be done…because
whatever has been reported, indeed there is a high possibilit…a 99 percent chance
it happened to baby Tamara, and because we don't want it to happen to any other
child in Nyeri and beyond Nyeri, we are trusting that the investigators will do
though job and for sure they have carried some specimen, they have told us to
give them time and be patient as they carry out their duties,” said Ms. Ruguru.
Baby Tamara’s father Kevin Nyaga, on his part, stated: “I’m
not yet satisfied because, all l have is just pain and anger, because she is irreplaceable,
as much as tunasema ni justice, it's still not enough, because hizi cases
zimekuwa rampant. l guess in my case justice itakuwa, na tougher laws na zikuwe
faster.”
