An autopsy has confirmed that Monica Nyambura, a woman who was killed in Githurai, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

According to the post-mortem form, the deceased's body was found in her two-bedroomed house in Githurai 45, lying dead, half-naked, with some injuries on the head.

The autopsy comes even as police continue to piece together details into her tragic death by her suspected lover, who visited her at her rented house in the Mwili area of Githurai 45.

Police officers discovered her decomposing body inside her house on Friday, February 20, after neighbors sensed a foul smell coming from her house.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the victim’s mother, Charity Njogu, stated that the family is still waiting for the arrest of the suspect, who remains at large.

She revealed that she first learned of the incident through a friend who had received information about the tragic death.

Njogu said the family is planning to bury Nyambura in Nyahururu, as they work to raise funds to transfer her body from City Mortuary to her rural home.

She added that she had not heard from her daughter for some time before the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

"Nilikuwa nimekaa bila kuongea na yeye. Huu mwaka hatukuwa tumeongea," Njogu stated.

She appealed to the police to expedite investigations and bring the perpetrator to justice.

Nyambura leaves behind a son in Grade 10, with the family now facing the difficult task of breaking the news to him.
