Ban on ‘terrorist’ buses lifted
Four bus companies whose licenses were suspended over allegedly funding terror activities have been cleared to resume operations.
The bus companies will also have their accounts reopened following an agreement with the government.
The consent was recorded on July 2nd, 2015 during a meeting convened by the State Law Office and was filed at the High Court in Nairobi.
Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) found no evidence that linked Sabrin Bus Services Limited, E-Coach, City to City Bus Services Limited and G-Coach to terror activities.
The bus companies, which mainly operate North Eastern Kenya routes, sued the government for what they termed as an arbitrary and discriminatory ban.
They were among 86 business companies and individuals suspended after the Garrissa University Al Shabaab attack.
