Bobi Wine gun exhibits ‘go missing’ as U.K. Parliament blasts Uganda
Reports have emerged that two rifles and ammunition allegedly recovered from Bobi Wine’s hotel room when he was arrested have gone missing.
According to The Observer newspaper, police are unable to trace the guns that were paraded in Arua and used as evidence in justifying charges against Bobi Wine.
“Up to now we are waiting for the file and the guns to be given to the investigators so that the case of being in unlawful possession of firearms can move forward,” the source told The Observer.
Bobi Wine’s arrest and claims of torture in detention caused uproar with his lawyer Robert Amsterdam calling on the U.S. government to suspend military support to Uganda.
Bobi Wine is currently in Washington D.C. with his wife Barbara Kyagulanyi where he is receiving treatment. He has also met with officials from the U.S State Department.
Meanwhile, reports also emerged that two foreigners linked to Wine were forced to leave Uganda following claims of pressure from the Government.

In addition, the British Government also took time off it’s regular discussions about issues affecting their citizens to criticise Ugandan authorities over the Bobi Wine arrest and detention.
Dr. Paul Williams, Stockton South MP, termed Wine as a charismatic, brave and popular leader, adding that parliamentarians across the world should fight for rights of their counterparts in the Commonwealth.
