Body of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo arrives in Kitale ahead of burial

The body of former Lugari Member of Parliament and prominent politician, the late Cyrus Jirongo, has arrived at his Kitale home, where family, friends and leaders paid their last respects ahead of its transfer on Monday to Lumakanda, Lugari, for burial scheduled on Tuesday.

Leaders present have called on police to fast-track investigations into the road accident that led to his death, saying the family deserves justice and clear answers.

They also noted that the late Jirongo will be laid to rest in accordance with the cultural traditions of the Tiriki community.
