Busia, West Pokot county assemblies pass the BBI Bill

The Busia and West Pokot county assemblies have now become the fourth and fifth counties to pass the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) driven Constitutional Amendment Bill after Homa Bay, Kisumu and Siaya.

In Busia, the House passed the BBI Bill on Tuesday after a majority of the MCAs supported it with only one of them opposing it.

Addressing the press after the vote, Busia County Assembly Speaker Bernard Wamalwa said he will make the formal communication to the Speakers of both the National Assembly and the Senate.

The West Pokot County Assembly on the other hand unanimously passed the bill.
