Chase car belonging to Governor Nyong’o clamped at Kisumu Airport, Ksh.7K fine imposed

National Youth Services (NYS) officers manning the Kisumu International Airport clamped a chase car belonging to Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.

The chase car was part of the convoy that drove the governor to the airport on Wednesday evening to catch his flight to Nairobi.

However, the occupants were reportedly in a rush and parked it in the wrong place, prompting the NYS officers to clamp it.

Attempts by Kisumu County officers to persuade the NYS officers to release the vehicle fell on deaf ears.

The vehicle was still parked at the airport on Thursday morning with the county officers expected to pay a fine of Ksh. 7000 for illegal parking.

Last year, the NYS officers also clamped a National Police Service vehicle which had been parked in the wrong place.

The driver of the vehicle had escorted a senior police officer to catch his flight.

Currently, officers from the NYS patrol the Kisumu Airport alongside their counterparts from the National Police force.
