Chief facing rape charges released on bond in Marsabit

A Marsabit court on Wednesday set free Kituruni assistant chief who was allegedly facing rape charges.

The suspect, Emannuel Leilo-ge-le, is alleged to have defiled his class six daughter twice in March last year.

The suspect was arrested early last month after attempts to arrest him in March last year proved futile.

Before Marsabit resident Magistrate Tom Mbayaki Wafula,the accused denied the charges and was released on a bond of half a million shillings and surety of four hundred thousand shillings.

The case is set to proceed on the 15th of this month at Marsabit court.
