Children in Trans Nzoia banned from disco matangas

The county government of Trans Nzoia county has warned children against participating in evening parties including disco matangas.

The ban is in a bid to prevent early pregnancies among teens, according to Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Erastus Mbui.

He warned that those found participating in the parties will be arrested and arraigned in court.

“Parents ought to be very keen with their children especially during this festive season. Lest, they are arrested alongside their children,” he said.

“A lot of criminal activities occur during those parties; some even get involved with substance abuse,” he added.
