Citizen TV news anchor Mwanahamisi Hamadi has been named among the top twenty most impactful women in Kenya, according to a new report.

The report, released by research firm Timely Kenya, evaluated five main aspects of an individual’s life, namely; professional achievement, societal impact, commitment/resilience, distinct leadership qualities, as well as youth and cultural relevance.

Mwanahamisi, a seasoned Swahili news anchor and journalist, is widely known for hosting the Citizen TV segment ‘Mwanamke Bomba', which showcases women breaking the glass ceiling and their accomplishments in society.

She has been a champion of women's rights and empowerment, and has spotlighted women who do great jobs but hardly get the recognition they deserve.

The recognition by Timely Kenya comes as the latest feather in Mwanahamisi’s cap, having also been honoured by the State as a Shujaa during Mashujaa Day celebrations last year.

Among other top ten personalities who featured on the list alongside her were; Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos Governor), Truphena Muthoni (Environmental Conservative, who recently broke the Guinness World Record after hugging a tree for 72 straight hours), Stella Atambo (Chief Principal Magistrate), Peninah Ngina (Princiapal, Nkabune TTI), Nancy Gathungu (Auditor general) Pauline Njoroge (Digital Strategist), Evelyn Cheluget (Director General, Immigration Services) Eunice Mamito (Comedian), and Moesha Kay (Dancer/Guardian).

The other ten prominent women who rounded up the top 20 list were: Monica Kathono ( CEC, Finance, Meru County), Joan Nyambura (Automotive engineer and entrepreneur) Pamella Sittoni (Group Managing Editor, Nation Media Group), Damaris Muriithi (Businesswoman - Dama wa Spares), Everlyn Bowa (CEO, AWOCHE Foundation), Florence Akinyi (Philanthropist - Mama Dota), Crystal Asige (Nominated Senator), Norah Muendo (Entrepreneur - Baby Nila), Mary Muthoni (PS, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards), and Rukiya Mohammed (Kenya Wildlife Service officer).
