CNN Multichoice Awards Winners

Citizen TV’s Anne Mawathe and Rashid Ibrahim were among 5 Kenyans who scooped top awards at the prestigious cnn Multichoice Africa journalist of the year awards held in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania last night. Mawathe and Ibrahim won the news impact award for their story “veiled justice” which highlighted the plight of a rape victim in Wajir County. Kenyan freelance photojournalist Joseph Mathenge scooped the overall prize for photographs he took during the 2013 Westgate mall attack revealing how the horrifying day of terror unfolded inside the complex.
