Coffee Worth Millions Of Shillings Stolen

Security guards say an armed gang of 20 people broke into the factory at 5.00 am on Tuesday morning and made away with the parchment.

According to Wilson Nderitu Karime the factories chairman, the gang tied up the three security guards and took keys to the various stores in the factory.

120 bags of coffee parchment have been stolen.

The bags were to be transported to the Kenya Co-operative Coffee Exporters.

The gang has also stolen three cartons of coffee chemicals, a computer worth Ksh. 70,000, first Aid kit and the factory toolbox.

The deputy manager, Vincent Macharia, said the guards were not injured and are now helping the police with the investigation.

The coffee had been insured and was worth more than 3-4 million shillings.
