Competition Tribunal members sworn in
Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Anne Amadi, presided over the swearing in of the chairperson and three members of the Competition Tribunal.
Mr Stephen Kipkenda Kiplagat was sworn in as the chairperson while Mr Irshad A. Ibrahim, Major (Rtd.) P.O Awita and Ms Wanja Wambugu, as members of the Tribunal.
“The Judiciary is committed to supporting the Tribunal to ensure that its operations run smoothly,” said Ms Amadi.

The Tribunal is established under the Competition Act and deals with decisions arising from the Competition Authority especially with regard to restrictive trade practices.
The Competition Act, which creates the Competition Authority and the Tribunal, seeks to enhance the welfare of the people of Kenya by promoting and protecting effective competition in markets and preventing unfair and misleading market conduct throughout Kenya.
