Drama at funeral after family discovers their kin's body was buried by another family

Confusion hit Kiamuthambi village in Kirinyaga County on Thursday after a family discovered their kin’s body at Kibugi Funeral Home had already been issued to another family and buried on Tuesday.

The family which was forced to postpone the burial of their 90-year old kin was shocked to find the body missing at the last minute of the ceremony.

According to reports, the family of the deceased, Irene Wamarwa, whose body had been mistakenly issued to another family was forced to cover her grave as they wait for the situation to be fixed.

Family members led by Peter Munene Gacingiri had a very difficult time convincing mourners in their homestead that burial would not take place.

Kibugi Funeral Home management on their part said the body was buried by another family at Kiangurwe village in Gichugu on Tuesday by mistake.

“Let us wait for a court order so that we can exhume the body,” the management told Citizen Digital.

Meanwhile, mourners had to eat what village welfare women groups had prepared for the ceremony.
