A churchgoer has been arrested and handed
over to the police in Kaewa, Masinga, Machakos County for allegedly breaking into
their church and stealing several items.
The 38-year-old man is accused of breaking
into AIC Kitula and making away with property, including a gas cylinder and a
gas hose.
According to the area assistant chief
Nicholas Kiewa, congregants have lately been suspecting that he is behind the
disappearance of several items in the church.
They even accuse him of making a copy of
the church’s keys.
“He was a guitar player at the church but when
the congregants began suspecting that he was stealing church items, they
stopped him from playing. They suspect he made copies of the church keys,” the
administrator said.
The suspect is detained at the Kaewa police
post.
