Contain Insecurity,Turkana Leaders Tell Gov’t

Senator John Munyes , Turkana South Mp James Lomenen and his Turkana West Colleague Daniel Nanok have given the government one week to assure residents living along the Turkana-Pokot border of security or face mass protests.

Speaking at Kanamkemer in Lodwar, the leaders faulted police for failing to contain attacks by Pokot raiders, saying area officers and reservists are only securing recently discovered oil wells leaving residents at the mercy of attackers.

This comes a day after two people were killed at Kakoong  in Turkana South after more than 200 armed raiders believed to be from pokot surrounded the village and opened fire making away with more than 1,000 animals.
