Coronavirus: 31-year-old woman escapes from quarantine in Bungoma

A 31-year-old woman on Wednesday escaped from the Kimilili Sub-county Hospital in Bungoma where she had been quarantined undergoing monitoring for the coronavirus.

According to police, the patient identified as Brenda Naliaka Mukhwan arrived in Bungoma from Nairobi on April 1, 2020 while feeling unwell.

She went to the Kimilili Sub-county Hospital where upon check-up, she was found to be exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and was placed under quarantine, but escaped after a short while.

A multi-agency team immediately launched a hunt for the woman and she was found in her house at Temba Temba village in Kimilili.

She has now been placed under quarantine within the holding facility.
