COTU Moves To Court Over NSSF Appointments

The court order obtained by COTU Boss Francis Atwoli also bars the NSSF board of trustees from meeting until the case is heard in ten days’ time.

Atwoli accuses Kambi of refusing to appoint Damaris Wanjiru, who was nominated to the board by COTU in 2013.

Atwoli is also accusing Kambi of ignoring pleas by COTU to appoint Wanjiru  as required by law.

In a statement, Atwoli said he read mischief in the appointment of three NSSF trustee board members this week, two from government and one from federation of Kenyan employers, omitting the COTU choice.

Kambi this week appointed former Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) chairman engineer Erastus Mwongera, Andrew Muigai and Veska Jepkemboi to the board for three years.
