County Gov’ts Rationalization Process

During the sensitization forum held at Maanzoni lodge in Machakos County on Thursday, Transition Authority (T.A) Chair Kinuthia Wamwangi said the county secretaries, county executive committee members in charge of public service and chairpersons of county public service boards are strategically critical in the success of county governments’ programmes.

Wamwangi said biometric machines will be used in the rationalization process so that they can be able to capture the details of all workers across the 47 counties, to help weed-out ghost workers who have cost the national and county governments millions of shillings.

The T.A chair added they are training the officers on establishment of the structure that will help in carrying-out the rationalization process.

Wamwangi warned that too much legislation after passing of the constitution will interfere with the smooth flow of devolution adding that the authority was not consulted on various legislations passed by the national assembly.
