Court orders EACC to arrest water board boss

The High Court sitting in Kisumu has ordered the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kisumu branch to arrest Lake Victoria South Water Services Board CEO Eng. Moses Agumba over corruption allegations.

The order was granted after Edgar Odhiambo, a resident of Siaya County, moved to the court accusing Agumba of involvement in corruption.

Ochieng filed the petition before Senior Principal Magistrate Thomas Obutu who granted the order.

EACC has also been ordered to commence relevant investigations and forensic audit against Eng. Agumba and his financial activities as the CEO of the water board.

Eng. Agumba is being accused of overseeing salary payments to ghost workers in 2014 amounting to Ksh 14.3 million during his tenure as the accounting officer of the water board.

In the affidavit, Ochieng accused Agumba of wastage of public resources that has cost taxpayers lots of money.

The court has ordered Agumba to appear before it on August 26th to take a plea.
