Goldenscape boss Peter Wangais medical report under scrutiny

A Nairobi court has directed that a medical report on the director of Goldenscape Group Peter Wangai who is alleged to have fleeced Kenyans out of their millions be examined.

Chief magistrate Martha Mutuku gave the directions after the lawyer representing the businessman told the court that Mr. Wangai tested positive for COVID-19, urging the court to postpone the plea taking.

The Director of Public Prosecutions will be preferring 360 criminal charges held in 18 files against the businessman

The plea has been deferred to next Wednesday.

Peter Wangai was arraigned on Thursday before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and pleaded not guilty to the offences.

Last week, Mr. Wangai who denied 21 counts of fraud related charges dismissed the allegations by the victims and informed the court that he was only a director of Goldenscape company.

He is alleged to have defrauded investors over Ksh. 19m in dubious greenhouse investment scheme.
