Suspended Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and Nairobi Senator Gidion Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko have been cleared over graft claims relating to a Kenya Pipeline Tender.

Chirchir and Sonko were accused of colluding with an intent to influence the award of a Kenya Pipeline Tender

The two – who were grilled by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in April – were accused of planning to pocket Ksh 1.35 billion from the tender.

Chirchir and Sonko were cleared by the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko following recommendations by the anti-graft body to close their files for lack of evidence.

Felix Koskei – the suspended Agriculture CS – was cleared over irregular sugar imports licensing claims.

Koskei was accused of using his office to license illegal sugar imports into the country.

Engineer Michael Kamau, the suspended Transport and Infrastructure CS, has also been cleared over irregular contract award to Landmark Clearing and Forwarding Company.

Eng. Kamau was on Thursday arraigned in court over abuse of office charges and released on a Ksh 3 million bond or a Ksh 1 million cash bail.

Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai has also been cleared over allegations of human resource management and procurement irregularities in the Narok County Government.
