Dadaab: 2 GSU officers killed, four seriously injured in suspected al-Shabaab attack

According to a police report seen by Citizen.Digital, the officers were in one vehicle, headed for KCPE supervision when they run over the IED, suspected of having been planted by al-Shabaab militants.

Two General Service Unit (GSU) officers died on Monday, while four others sustained serious injuries after running into a remote-controlled IED at Ege-Dam along Daadab Garissa Road

According to a police report seen by Citizen.Digital, the officers were in one vehicle, headed for KCPE supervision duty, when they ran over the IED, suspected of having been planted by al-Shabaab militants. 

The Injured officers were rushed to Dadaab Hospital for treatment. 

Meanwhile, candidates in class eight and those in grade six began their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations on Monday.

The KCPE examinations will mark the end of the 8-4-4 education system in primary schools. 


There are 1,282,574 candidates set to sit the KPSEA assessments, while 1,415, 315 will be sitting their KCPE exams.
