DCI detective Kabachia who promised woman non-existent prisons job arrested

Police Constable Edward Mwaniki Kabachia, a DCI detective based at Kisauni has been arrested for obtaining money by false pretense.

In the incident that dates back to 2017, he reportedly received money from a Kenyan lady after promising her that he could secure her two relatives jobs at the Kenya Prisons.

His arrest followed a conclusion of an inquiry by the DCI in Likoni.

It was recommended that the officer be charged with the offense of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to Section 313 of the Penal Code.

He will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

According to Chapter 63 of the Penal Code: “Any person who by any false pretence, and with intent to defraud, obtains from any other person anything capable of being stolen, or induces any other person to deliver to any person anything capable of being stolen, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for three years. “
