Death penalty for those guilty of corruption will end the vice: Narc Kenya leaders

Narc Kenya has proposed that those found be involved in corruption in Kenya be handed the death penalty.

The proposal is similar to what happens in China; in March this year, a deputy mayor was sentenced to death after he was found guilty of taking £120 million (Ksh.15billion) in bribes, The Times reported.

On Friday, McLean Mukami (Coordinator at Narc headquarters ) and John Njiru (Embu County branch chairman) said it is only such punitive measures will deter corruption in Kenya.

Speaking in Embu when the party held a one-day workshop for it members, the two officials said the war on graft should not be politicised.

They two accused those involved in graft of subjecting millions of Kenyans to suffering by sabotaging the economy.

The Narc-Kenya leaders also reiterated that no one is above the law and those found engaging in corruption should be held accountable.

They also urged Kenyans to be involved in the party ongoing debate on Constitutional amendment and give their views on areas they want changed.
