Dida, Jirongo, Nyagah skip presidential debate
Alliance for Real Change Abduba Dida and United Democratic party leader Cyrus Jirongo and Joe Nyagah skipped this years presidential debate
Dida, who is running for the presidency for the second time, opted out of the presidential debate citing “media bias.”
This years presidential debate was split into two forums. The first forum pitted three presidential candidates Profesor Micheal Wainaina, Dr Ekuru Aukot and Dr Japheth Kavinga after three failed opted out of the debate.
The second forum is set to pit President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga at 8:00pm in spite of the Jubilee Party leader failing to confirm whether he will honour his invitation.
Not consulted
The debate was rescheduled from July 10 after President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga indicated they would skip the debate citing lack of consultations by the organizers, Debates Kenya Limited.
However on Sunday, June 23, the organizing committee confirmed that all candidates’ camps had been consulted and the debate would be held as scheduled.
