Ditch CORD and join Jubilee, MP tells Kalonzo

Galole MP Hassan Dukicha has urged CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch the opposition CORD and join Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 General Election.

Speaking during a funds drive to support women groups at Kipao in Tana Delta, the MP said Jubilee Party is the party of choice in the next elections.

Other leaders who spoke at the function differed with Dukicha on Jubilee move though saying Kalonzo should run for presidency under the Wiper Democratic Movement in 2017.

Galole MCA Hassan Dukicha, Tana River women representative Halima Ware and Governor Hussein Dado said that they are ready to support Kalonzo if he launches his presidential bid saying time has come for him to lead the country.

In his address, Musyoka dismissed any possibilities of joining Jubilee saying he is in CORD to stay.

Kalonzo urged the leaders to be patient noting that the country cannot be led by a single person but a collaboration of individuals.

He said CORD coalition which brings together his Wiper Movement, ODM party led by Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya led by Moses Wetangula is ready to form the next government.

The Wiper leader accused the government of perpetuating vices including corruption and land grabbing adding that there is need to stop such social ills.

He also criticised Jubilee for trying to clip the powers of the Auditor General terming it as an act of ‘everyone for himself and God for us all’.

Kalonzo called on Members of the County Assembly to support the Okoa Kenya referendum push saying it seeks to increase county allocation to 45 per cent up from 15 per cent and create a 5 per cent Fund for each ward countrywide.

He urged residents of Tana River to guard their land from land grabbers citing the scandal at the Galana Kulalu irrigation scheme that had not benefited locals despite the national government pumping billions of shillings into the project.
