DP Ruto asks allies to stop hurling insults at President Uhuru

Deputy President William Ruto has asked his allies who have been  targeting President Uhuru Kenyatta  with insults to cease fire.

Taking to Twitter on Monday shortly after the arrest of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, DP Ruto said the use of “unsavory words against mothers and the Head of State was a no no’.

DP Ruto’s statement appeared to have targeted two of his key allies; Oscar Sudi and Johana Ng’eno who are on the limelight for a brazen attack on President Kenyatta.

“Leaders should exercise restraint and avoid insults and bad language against other Kenyans. Unsavoury words against mothers and Head of State is a NO, NO. No amount of anger justifies use of offensive insulting language.

There exists decent ways to communicate however one feels,” DP Ruto said on Twitter.

The latest comes in the backdrop of Emurua Dikirr lawmaker dramatic arrest on Monday evening from his home in Narok.

The MP who is expected in court on Tuesday is accused of making statements that pitted Kenyans against the first family.

On Monday, hundreds of his supporters took to the streets on a 6-kiliometer  march to the Emurua Police station where Ng’eno was being questioned.

Police officers had to fire in the air to disperse the agitated crowd that had attempted to stop the MP’s arrest.

Elsewhere, MP Oscar Sudi dared the police to arrest him shortly after uploading a scathing video targeting President Kenyatta.
