DP Ruto claims Raila, Kalonzo, Mudavadi seeking Uhuru’s blessings

Deputy President William Ruto now claims his opponents are desperately courting President Uhuru Kenyatta for an endorsement in next year’s general election.

Ruto was speaking on Friday on the second day of his tour of the coast region, where he pushed his hustler narrative and asked residents to reject the BBI bill.

The Deputy President led his allies in various parts of Kilifi and Mombasa counties, where he claimed his opponents have no plan for 2022.

“2017 niliambiwa hawa wangwana sisi tunashindana na wao. Siku hiyo walikua clueless, planless, radarless. Mimi naona miaka mitatu baadae bado hawana mpango. Ati mpango kubwa wanategea ni endorsement ya rais,” said Ruto.

The DP maintaining that the hustler narrative had changed the country’s politics.

“Today the conversation in Kenya has changed. In every meeting the conversation is about the hustler and wheelbarrow,” added Ruto.

BBI and 2022 politics also took centre stage, leaders accompanying the DP drumming up support for his presidential bid while calling on Kenyans to reject the BBI document which they claim is meant to serve selfish interests.

On Saturday, the DP will be in Jomvu, Nyali and Kinangop before concluding his tour at the coast.
