'DP Ruto does not understand his job description,' Governor Mutua says

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now says that Deputy President William Ruto does not know his job as the country's DP and should not blame anyone for the fallout in the Jubilee government.

Governor Mutua said on Citizen TV's daybreak show on Thursday that Ruto has failed and "does not know how to work."

He claims that Ruto failed to carry out the responsibilities assigned to him, forcing the President to delegate the roles to someone else.

"When he (President) stood and called him (Ruto) out saying unatangatanga badala ya kufanya kazi, what did he mean?" he posed rhetorically.

"He meant that this guy is not working, this guy is playing politics...from where I sit and from my discussion with President Uhuru Kenyatta and others William Ruto failed, hajui kufanya kazi., hakufanya kazi ambayo alipewa alianza kutangatanga so he created a vacuum and the president had to fill that vacuum." stated Mutua.

The Machakos county boss went on to say that DP Ruto would have easily won the country's top seat in the August polls if he had agreed to work well with his 'boss' without an oblique relationship.

"...but had the DP stayed in his office, done the work, concentrated on his projects, respected the president I assure you right now it would be a walkover for him to be the next president of the republic of Kenya," stated Mutua.

He further urged DP Ruto to 'review his habits' while in office that ignited the spat between the two.

"William Ruto should review his habits and ask himself where did he go wrong what did he do such that his boss turned against him. Or also maybe its the Deputy President who has brought disrespect to the the office of the Deputy President by his bevaviors."

This comes after President Kenyatta and DP Ruto had a public spat over who was to blame for Jubilee's failures.

On his part, the President claimed that DP Ruto refused to work with him and instead chose to run for president early, ignoring their office mandate. Ruto responded, saying no one can deny him credit for the works achieved by Jubilee.

"Sisi tumekuwa kazi kama Jubilee na kama mnakumbuka mimi niliuliza kwa heshma tu nikasema tufanye kazi kwanza alafu turudi wakati wa siasa ukifika, nikaambiwa wewe huna uwezo wa kutuambia uache, wakasema wacha sisi tutangatange," said President Kenyatta.

"I want to tell our friends, the Jubilee government was a joint project between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto. I want to tell them, you cannot deny me as Deputy President the credit we have achieved in the many things we have achieved as a government." said Ruto as a past rally.
