The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has dismissed threats by a section of Members of Parliament to oust him saying that he will continue to execute his mandate according to the Constitution without fear or favour whatsoever.
The DPP says that his decision to recommend for prosecution and closure of files involving graft cases is based on the evidence provided by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
In a statement to news-rooms, the DPP indicated that so far he has received 33 files from EACC with only three files remaining for awaiting his determination on whether they will be prosecuted or closed.
This is after 18 files involving 84 persons were approved for prosecution.
The Karen land saga involving suspended Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu is among the files awaiting determination by the DPP after the EACC recommended for her prosecution.
Last week the EACC cleared suspended Transport Cabinet Secreatry Engineer Michael Kamau of two allegations.
He also cleared two other Cabinet Secretaries of graft charges leveled against them.
Eng Kamau was cleared just a day after his dramatic arraigment in court over abuse of office charges.
