Eldoret: Man stabs wife to death, turns knife on self

Vincent Otieno is alleged to have waited for his wife, with whom he had an earlier argument, by the side of the road while carrying a kitchen knife. He allegedly used the knife to stab her multiple times in the chest, seriously injuring her.

Later, the suspect allegedly turned the knife on himself, stabbed himself in the neck, and inflicted serious injuries.

Ayub Gitonga, the police commander of Uasin County Gishu, confirmed the incident, saying the two were rushed by residents to the Moi Referral and Training Hospital in Eldoret, where the woman was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, Otieno remains in critical condition and is undergoing medical treatment.

Gitonga added that the police recovered the knife that the suspect allegedly used and added that he will be prosecuted once he recovers.
