Embu County not bedbug infested, health department says

The department of public health services in Embu County has refuted claims that schools in the region are bedbug infested.

Responding to concerns raised by the county assembly members, Embu County Public Health Officer Rosaline Kaugi said the incidences of jiggers and bedbugs in the region’s learning institutions were not alarming, adding that the county government had put in place measures to deal with it.

The county assembly had been told that learning in most schools had been affected by bedbug infestations.

Kagui further asked county residents to report any such cases to the county authorities.
