Energy CS Davis Chirchir heckled in Bomet

Energy
Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir was on Sunday heckled while giving his remarks
during a church service attended by President William Ruto in Sotik town, Bomet
County.
Footage
from the event shows Chirchir assuming the stage to shouting from the
congregation.
President
Ruto was flanked by CSs Chirchir, Ezekiel Machogu (Education) and Florence Bore
(Labour), among other government officials.
Although
it did not touch on matters of energy, Chirchir’s speech comes as Kenyans graple with high fuel costs despite a 16 per cent drop in international prices.
A review released by the Energy and Petroleum
Regulatory Authority (EPRA) last week maintained the price of super petrol
in the country at Ksh.217 for the next month.
The price of diesel and kerosene has been
slightly reduced by Ksh.2 per litre to retail at Ksh.203.47 and Ksh.203.06
respectively in Nairobi.
EPRA attributed the cost to the rising landed
cost of diesel and super petrol.
