Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has weighed in on the recent cabinet reshuffle, appearing to suggest that the Mt. Kenya region may have received the short end of the stick.

Kuria, one of Ruto's cabinet members who was dismissed, claimed that while the Raila-led ODM wing presented a list of well-known political hotshots, the Mt. Kenya region presented little-known individuals with unclear credentials.

He was speaking in Subukia on Wednesday during the funeral of Professor Ngugi Njoroge.

"Wakati wa reshuffle ilikuwa hapa juzi, wengine umeona wameleta ma superstars wao.. si mmeona Joho? Si mmeona oparanya, Si umeona John Mbadi?"  Kuria posed.

"Sisi wale wetu wamerudishwa, wamechaguliwa, hata ukienda kwa encyclopaedia, huwezi jua mtu ametoka wapi ama anaenda wapi,"

According to Kuria, one of the vote-rich region's miscalculations leading up to the last General Election was the lack of their own party.

"Huyu deputy president kabla alime CS wa kutoka kwingine, alikuwa anatulima sisi watu wa mlima," Kuria added.

"Yeye, analima wabunge, nao wabunge wanamlima, mimi hata wale wamenikosea, hata deputy president sina shida na wao."

According to Kuria, several politicians, including the Deputy President, criticised him when he asked them to join one party ahead of the 2022 elections.

"I keep telling people that you cannot got to a wedding in the groom's car because at any point, the groom may demand the key back and you may have to walk home," he said.

The ex-CS also addressed DP Gachagua's rumoured impeachment, telling mourners that he would never support the removal of the second-in-command.

"I will not agree for the deputy president to be impeached,... as long as I'm alive, sitakubali akuwe impeached," Kuria said.

"We cannot pay a bad deed with a worse one, I have released him on a free bond, hakuna shida."

Kuria who joked about being jobless promised to travel around the Mt. Kenya region, telling the people what he has learnt since the last election and ensuring that the region does not make the same mistakes again.

Kuria claims that the Mt. Kenya region shot itself in the foot as a result of constant disagreements and political misunderstandings.

He claimed that prior to the reshuffle, DP Gachagua had developed an inkling to target Mt. Kenya leaders.

He claimed that other people ended up in Ruto's new cabinet as a result of political miscalculations and unnecessary wars.

"Before you start any war, you should also focus on how the war will end, all these fights are the ones that made other people seize the opportunity to join government,"
