Family seeks clues on whereabouts of GSU officer who graduated last week
Mohammed Daud, a fresh General Service Unit (GSU)
graduate, has gone missing days after leaving the training camp in Embakasi, Nairobi.
According to the family, Mohammed
communicated with them saying he was visiting a relative's home in Eastleigh
before heading to Mombasa the following day.
And now, for 5 days, the family of the
23-year-old who was set for a two-week break, is yet to hear from him.
The family is now pleading with the police to
search for the missing officer.
According to the security apparatus, Mohammed
did indeed leave the GSU camp and a search is now on.
Barwaka Adan, Mohammed's
mother, said: ”Naomba tu kwa serikali, mimi sina uwezo, munitafutie mwanangu. Kama
yuko hai munielezee kama amekufa pia munieleze.”
On February 27 at home in Barsheba, Mombasa
County, Mohammed left for GSU training with a promise to transform the fortunes
of his family.
Ali Daud, his brother,
stated: “Alisema kwamba nikitoka huko mahali ninaenda training mtafurahi, kwa
hivyo nyote muniombee Mungu nimalize training yangu vizuri na nitaleta
matumaini makubwa katika hii family. Sasa sisi tukasema tutakuombea brother
popote ulipo.”
On December 8, the family's hopes and joy
were high, only to come down tumbling with the disappearance of their kin.
